DEVELOPING A SIX PACK!
(for men or women)

Each of us wants a six pack for own reasons. Men tend to want it more for impressing women with their lean ab muscles and women tend to like to have firm abs creating that nice bottle shaped body form.

Whichever the case, there is one simple truth to get you on the road towards your goal.

You see, your tummy is covered by a layer of fat. This is normal, because its one of the natural places for the body to keep stores of fat. It is very much likely that tummy fat is the last fat to go, which can be frustrating for people who like to have quick results.

So, this actually means that you absolutely do not need to make all the major effort of making crunches and other types of exercises which strengthen your abs!

I am not saying they are useless. They are not really helping us for this specific goal. Remember the goal of this article, as the heading suggests is to develop a six pack and this is done by losing the layer of fat above it. Remember, even if you do not train your abs and lose the layer of fat you still have a natural six pack. Training the abs just make a better looking six pack.

However, losing this layer of fat is not an easy task and it is definitely not accomplished by countless abdominal exercises, which are, by the by, quite difficult to do for overweight people.

Therefore, what must be done is 80% focus on nutrition and 20% focus on lots and lots of cardio. Cardio includes running, walking, biking and all other exercises where you tend to sweat a lot with your whole body.

Technically exercise is not needed to achieve weight loss / six pack. It however aids speed up the process and brings many advantages to it. (what advantages?)

For nutrition focus on eating only lean proteins such as chicken, fish and few eggs complemented by a large variety of vegetables. The idea is to eat often, every 3-4 hours, but small amounts.

If you really want the six pack forget about anything made from flour such as bread, paste, pizza, etc. Forget all junk food and all cookies and sweets. Eliminate or drastically decrease alcohol. Do not trust any of the "diet" or "light" or "zero calories" foods in the supermarkets. Do not use any artificial sweeteners as they actually make you fat (really?).

As reported by countless people, there is a rule. One must do a minimum of 1 hour of any cardio. It seems in the first 30 minutes or so, the body is not losing fat at all, but rather water (thus the sweating) and other sources of fuel (the carbs / sugars) and it is after 30 and even 45 minutes of exercise that the fat cells start to go off.

The good thing about cardio is we can do it every day and even several times per day if we want to. There are no health risks from excessive cardio, just listen to your body. (when to exercise?)

An easy way to monitor is to buy (get the cheap version) a scale which can tell your body fat and water content as well as your weight. You can expect to see nice abs once you drop to lower than 13% body fat.
